MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Rotary International is to assist and guide Rotarians and Rotary Clubs to accomplish the object of Rotary to ensure Rotary’s continuing relevance and to help build a better world, emphasizing service activities by individuals and groups that enhance the quality of life and human dignity, encouraging high ethical standards, and creating greater understanding among all people to advance the search for peace in the world.

THE BEGINNING

The year 1977 saw the beginning of new era in Curchorem, Sanvordem with the formation of the Rotary Club of Curchorem-Sanvordem. This idea was originally conceived by Rotarian Durganand Sanvordekar, a senior Rotarian of R. C. of Margao, who resides in Curchorem. Subsequently in the month of July 1977 this Rotary Club of Curchorem- Sanvordem was founded and installed.

It is very important to note that ROTARY CHARITABLE TRUST was formed in the year 1998-99 and still continues to give financial and other assistance to the needy people of the locality.

In 1983-84 the club decided to adopt Chirkonali Village the village along with the primary school children are given proper services by this Rotary Club. Also the village was provided with Electricity and mini bus service through the respective departments. The club also adopted new village “Shirvoi” on 2nd October 1997 and a Rotary library was inaugurated at the hands of the District Governer. Read More…
